Minimum Job Requirements


  • Working Hours - full time
  • Personal Traits - Good communication skills with positive teamwork attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organization skills and ability to multi-task and trouble shoot.
  • Knowledge - must be able to read a print to detail.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, email, ERP, statistical, and other business software.
  • Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work extended hours as needed. Be available for on-call needs as required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting the department manager with all department operations, including hands-on procedures. Responsible for ensuring department equipment and tools are maintained. Responsible for CMM programming that determines product conformity to requirement. Authority to interface with customers and Latitude's Engineering Department with regards to CMM programming, outputs, and estimation of work effort.


  • Proficient in Establish priorities for the Quality Technicians and interface with scheduling to understand and accommodate schedule fluctuations.
  • Assist in the oversight of Quality Technicians; including training, work allocation and problem resolution.
  • Provide day-to-day decisions for the Quality department as well as the administrative tasks in the absence of the manager.
  • Communicate accurately and effectively to all
    employees.
  • Program CMM instruments using Calypso and PC-Dims with and without a Solid model.
  • Operate CMM instruments running Calypso such as Zeiss and Hexagon instruments.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance of
    CMM instruments such as Zeiss and Hexagon instruments.
  • Execute check fixture design and validation.
  • Teach less skilled employees in the operation, maintenance and qualification of Quality Equipment including CCMs, calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, and other Quality metrology instruments.
  • Provide feedback on Quality technicians to the
    department manager.
  • Provide decision making, attend meetings and perform administrative tasks in the absence of the department manager.
  • Inspect first article and audit of finished parts.
  • Understand the Quality Policy and Objectives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Ability to assess operational requirements and to plan and organize work flow and schedules.
  • Be a role model and set the standard of
    productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Proficient in CMM Calypso and PC-Dims programming.
  • Proficient in the operation and preventive maintenance of CMM instruments running Zeiss and Hexagon instruments.
  • Experience in CAD, SolidWorks preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and calculate allowed tolerances on measured parts.
  • Experience with PPAP or FAI. Type product confirmation activities.
  • Experience with check fixture design and validation as part of new product introduction.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 and/
    or AS9100

Education and Experience


  • Calypso and PC-Dims Certification
  • Minimum 5-years experience in Calypso and PC-Dims
  • CMM Programming in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 5-years experience taking precision measurements.
  • Two-year technical degree; four-year technical degree preferred. Ten years experience in a metal manufacturing
