Basic Function

HF Sinclair in Dallas, TX is seeking a Procurement Data Analyst to support the procurement organization's goals and objectives by transforming raw data into actionable insights that support decision-making and drive organizational success. Collect, manage, and analyze data from various sources, creating clear and impactful reports and dashboards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify trends, optimize processes, and implement improvements. Ensure data accuracy and integrity while effectively communicating findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders to facilitate data-driven strategies.

Job Duties

Data Collection & Management:



  • Gather, organize, and manage large datasets from various internal and external sources.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through regular audits and validation processes.
  • Maintain and optimize data pipelines to streamline data processing and reporting.


Data Analysis & Insights:



  • Conduct in-depth data analyses to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights that support business objectives.
  • Utilize statistical tools, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques to solve complexproblems and uncover opportunities.
  • Translate analytical findings into recommendations that drive growth, efficiency, and innovation.


Reporting & Visualization



  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights effectively.
  • Create clear and compelling presentations tailored to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting requests and deliver timely, accurate data insights.


Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:



  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand their date needs and provide analytical support.
  • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure alignment on project goals, metrics and deliverables.
  • Provide training and guidance to teams or end users on data tools, systems and processes.


Process Improvement & Innovation:



  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve data collection, storage and analysis workflows.
  • Leverage data to streamline processes, enhance decision-making, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects that leverage data to innovate and create new business opportunities.


Data Quality & Governance:



  • Ensure data quality by implementing cleansing, enrichment, and transformation processes.
  • Enforce best practices for data management and usage across the organization.
  • Maintain compliance with data governance policies and standards.


Special Projects:



  • Contribute to special assignments and organizational initiatives as required.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for solving business challenges through data-driven approaches.

Experience

A minimum of two (2) years related experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field. Each year of experience over five in procurement or inventory control may be substituted for one year of education (nine years total experience required w/o education).

Required Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize analyze and disseminate significant quantities of information to detail and accuracy; knowledge of the procurement/contracting business and ability to apply this knowledge in providing supporting analytics and reporting; Advanced reading and writing skills; strong background and knowledge of Excel (focus on Power Query/Power Pivot for data transformations); Power BI, SAP tables and QuickViewer query builder, SAP scripting and Microsoft VBA to automate routine manual tasks; familiarity with SQL, profiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with requirements gathering and process documentation; ability to analyze and reconcile data across multiple data sets and systems, interpret data into insights, Business process analysis and change management, extracting data from tables, building queries in SAP preparing and using large data sets to create dashboards.

Work Conditions

Office based with occasional refinery work and with up to 25% travel required by land or air. May include petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, and/or out-of doors environment.
