Job Summary |
The
College of Veterinary Medicine is in search of a
TES Barn Crew member
to provide routine animal care such as daily cleaning/sanitation of stalls and barns, rotational grazing, monitoring health and safety of animals, and transportation of animals to proper location. This position also requires the ability to operate a forklift and golf cart.
Schedule will be Wed - Sun, 5:00am - 2:00pm

TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university.
TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

Essential Functions |
- Provides routine animal care such as daily feeding, watering, cleaning/sanitation of stalls and barns, rotational grazing, monitoring health and safety of animals, and transportation of animals to proper location.
- May handle pesticides, herbicides, and hazardous chemicals on a team or alone.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Driver's license
Expectations:
- Ability to drive forklift and golf cart.
- Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
Physical demands:
- Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Job occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting more than 80 pounds.
- Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion.
- Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., with one often to the point of being objectionable. Injuries may require professional treatment.
