Position is responsible for leading assigned shift's day-to-day activities of the Smart Card Department which transforms secured cards to secured chip cards via Smart Card equipment and processes (lamination, milling, embedding, pre-personalization, key rolling, quality and quality tests) to ensure the production and timely delivery of high-quality plastic secured chip cards according to customer specifications and Company quality objectives.

Hourly rate - $23.70

Schedule: Friday-Sunday 4:00am-4:00pm



Responsibilities

Smart Card Lead:

    Able to effectively operate all Smart Card machines based on specific work instructions and successfully completed Smart Card (EMV) Operator I and Smart Card (EMV) Lead training checklists through hands on training
  • Effectively stage jobs to ensure on-time delivery and meet shipment deadlines
  • Assigns individual and team work in order to effectively complete shift production schedule accurately and on time
  • Thoroughly inspect work from the Finishing Department to maintain quality standards and meet customer requirements
  • Reports any needed repairs or equipment defects on his/her assigned shift to Smart Card (EMV) Manager, Maintenance Technician Supervisor or Maintenance Technician(s)
  • Responsible for operating equipment when primary operator is not available or at lunch
  • Completes yearly and quarterly performance review documents, conducts performance review discussions and coaches employees on assigned shift
  • Ensures work is organized and documentation completed for next shift including shop floor data
  • Ensures security and audit standards and records are implemented, maintained and documented in order to support Company's certification status
  • Ensures conformance to ISO 9001:2000 certification for all areas of responsibility
  • Trains shift personnel in all technical Smart Card areas or may assign others to do the same
  • Keeps necessary department supplies stocked for next shift and reports supply needs to Smart Card (EMV) Manager
  • Works with other Smart Card (EMV) Leads to coordinate vacation coverage for all shifts including backs up other shift leads or operators for vacation coverage
  • Prints necessary reports and makes necessary corrections in ERP Monarch with high accuracy.

Smart Card Operator I (EMV Lead is a working leads):

  • Interprets and completes all Smart Card forms and documents that pertain to the Smart Card department with high accuracy.
  • Able to effectively operate all Smart Card machines based on specific work instructions and successfully completed Smart Card (EMV) Operator I training checklist through hands on training
  • Responsible for accurate machine setup, operations, loading and unloading of materials and error adjustments based on work instructions, checklists, product specifications and customer job ticket requirements
  • Continually checks, monitors and corrects any quality issues that may occur during each customer job run to minimize downtime and waste
  • Performs minor preventative maintenance and repairs and reports any mechanical defects to Smart Card (EMV) Lead on assigned equipment
  • Maintains an accurate record of all completed work in shop floor data system and/or manual forms as required
  • Completes required audit paperwork based on job stage and equipment operated
  • Complies with ISO 9001:2000 certification for all areas of responsibility
  • Ensures completed product is staged in next work area with appropriate job ticket information attached
  • Keeps materials, supplies, product carts, boxes, cartons and other supplies needed stocked in department and notifies Smart Card (EMV) Lead of any inventory order needs
  • Maintains acceptable productivity, quality, service, spoilage, security and safety goals
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area
  • Follows all company procedures and rules
  • Follows all customer mandated security procedures and process requirements
  • Conducts self in a respectful and professional manner with a focus on teamwork, quality and timeliness at all times


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent with minimum 1-3 years of experience using manufacturing equipment and 1-2 years of experience leading others or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in order to interact and effectively lead others and to effectively train all employee levels in all technical areas of Smart Card Department
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and decision-making abilities to ensure timely completion of tasks and meet customer expectations
  • Solid math skills to be able to compute percentages, weights and measures
  • Solid ability to setup computer aided machinery and solid understanding of Windows based personal computers, including ability to interface with a PC by inputting and out putting data and loading and unloading programs computers
  • Ability to follow/interpret complex written and oral instructions and specifications
  • Must be security and safety oriented
  • Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance, punctuality, and collaborative teamwork
  • Elementary English proficiency communication skills necessary

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is conducted in a standing position and requires walking, bending, stooping, pulling, climbing and lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
