Position Summary: The Omaha Business Banking Specialist is responsible for the customer service for Omaha commercial loan customers and for coordinating the pre-closing transaction between all involved parties from application through closing. In addition, this position is responsible for ongoing file maintenance of the portfolio. This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity under the work from home guidelines up to one day per week upon completion of onboarding.

Essential Functions:



  • Support loan officer by coordinating all steps of the loan transaction, from application to closing.
  • Ensure proper approval for note requests and any variances from loan presentation summary prior to document preparation.
  • Communicate with loan officer, customer, and documentation preparation loan assistant to determine closing date.
  • Coordinate all steps of the loan transaction, including preparing loans for approval and closing, processing loans, preparing loan documents, assembling and submitting documentation, funding closed loans.
  • Complete Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) worksheet.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in person, on the phone, via email and through written correspondence. Answer questions and refer inquiries when necessary.
  • Process payments: review and process non-sufficient funds, (NSF), non-posts, loan disbursements, participation transactions, draw requests, payoff calculations, and wires.
  • Service existing loan files including borrowing base calculations, covenant compliance, financials, initiate renewals/extensions as loans mature, and other portfolio management and servicing that includes customer contact as needed.
  • Assist Residential Construction, Private Banking, Commercial Transportation Fleet Financing, Treasury Management and Commercial Real Estate Loan Officers as needed.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws, and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training, follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 3 years commercial loan experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending and loan requirements, loan documentation, collateral evaluation, lien perfection and local, state, and federal regulatory requirements required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and in working with other bank software.

Working Environment:

Indoor work - not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.

Some sedentary work and occasional lifting and/or carrying up to ten pounds.
