The Field Support Center in Tucker, Georgia serves each GMS location, providing the support needed to enable local teams to deliver outstanding service to contractors and builders in their local communities.

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Summer 2025 Risk Management & Safety Intern is to support the GMS Risk and Safety Team in the areas listed below.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Risk Management



  • Insurance Structure

    • Coverage types, limits, retentions
    • Understanding exposures
    • Captive insurance program
    • Loss runs
    • Premium allocation methodology
    • Quarterly metrics


  • Integrated Risk Management (RMIS System)

    • Statistics

      • Advanced Queries/dashboard design
      • Notifications
      • Review and Understand Quarterly Metrics and Distribution


    • Data Clean Up

      • OSHA Classification
      • Fleet, Property, & Equipment records
      • Statement of Values (SOV) additions/updates


    • Data Entry

      • Training Documentation (DQ?)
      • Data Load verification
      • Premium Allocation




  • DQ & Asset Management

    • Driver scorecard
    • Driver and Equipment updates
    • Mileage reports for crash stats


  • SMS Data retrieval and analysis
  • FieldiD Admin

    • Setting up users
    • Running reports
    • Event creation/editing


  • Driver's Alert Admin

    • Moving decals/vehicles
    • Reporting, user set up, notifications

    • Underground and above ground tanks, Spray foam, Sara Title III, SPCC plans





Basic Qualifications:



  • Rising Junior or Senior preferred
  • Prior internship in related field a plus
  • Analytical, ability to think critically and draw conclusions from analysis of data
  • Detail-oriented
  • Career-minded, quick learner, self-starter
  • Project oriented; knows how to manage time and deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Flexible; can adapt to changing demands and timelines
  • Confident communicator
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (intermediate formula mastery, database management, pivot tables, etc.), MS Word and MS PowerPoint

Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 70% of the time.
  • Will occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Constantly working in an office environment.
