Description
The Director, Accounting Operations and Financial Systems directs the activities of a team of accountants and managers, responsible for managing complex accounting and financial processes including financial transactions, account reconciliations, administration and integration of First Tech's core banking applications to the Oracle ERP and EPM accounting systems and provides support for audits and exams.

Job Duties
- Provide oversight and direction to accounting and financial close processes including consolidation of financial statements and related information and deployment of required system changes with short timeframes and a focus on accuracy and quality. Consistently analyzes, measures and tracks department performance
- Review and ensure financial statements produced are consistent with GAAP, including reporting on and communicating to leadership identified accounting corrections and ensure variance analysis explanations are accurate and presented in financial statements close call
- Coach and mentor a team of high-performing and engaged employees and managers through effective people leadership practices including regular communication of performance expectations and feedback to employees to maintain high team performance and engagement; provide coaching and corrective action as required; engages employees to support employee professional growth and identify areas of development
- Support external accounting requirements and maintain core banking applications to ensure compliance with GAAP
- Maintain and identify newly required processes and procedures to ensure effective ongoing business controls and accounting data integrity. Recognize and manage risk within accounting operation transactions escalating, as needed
- Maintain and enhance internal and external business relationships to ensure alignment with business and department priorities and to ensure effective cross-departmental communication and a strong Sarbanes Oxley internal control environment.
- Create and deliver executive-level presentations reporting results and/or propose changes in operations, products and programs
- Manage operations of the team to ensure timely completion of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual close activities and ensure appropriate workload balancing and cross functional coverage. Review reconciliations and financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies. Identify and implement process improvements to advance efficiencies or reduce exceptions in reconciliations
- Manage operations of the team to ensure timely completion of investor reports and delivery of wires consistent with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and/or third party servicing agreements
- Partner and actively collaborate with leaders in businesses, channels and functions to ensure the team gets the support needed from other departments while resolving complex reconciling items, technical accounting issues and deploying new products or processes. Initiate and lead meetings by setting an agenda, identifying topics of discussion, documenting action items and ensuring action items timely completion.
- Manage actions associated with core banking platforms, new products and processes to ensure that they are properly integrated to the general ledger in compliance with GAAP. Ensure financial transactions are designed to produce the most efficient outcome and that the control environment is maintained or enhanced
- Monitor and, as needed, build mechanisms to establish and manage financial controls (e.g. segregation of duties, periodic contingency reviews, organization self-audits, balance sheet reviews, criteria for determining acceptable risk)
- System oversight and maintenance of Oracle ERP and EPM environments. Ensure that new system functionality is adopted in a timely manner without exception, and identify opportunities for improved efficiencies
- Partner and serve as a point of contact for auditors and regulators to fulfill audit requests. Support a culture of safety and soundness by demonstrating strong audit compliance
- Perform research and interpret technical accounting topics to recommend changes or create accounting policies that are consistent with GAAP or to address new accounting transactions

$145k - $160k annually + annual bonus
