Student Success and Well-Being Office of Career Planning and Academic Engagement:

Career Planning and Academic Engagement (CPAE) is a core functional unit of the Division of Student Success and Well-Being. CPAE includes several departments and programs: Academic Advancement Programs, Office of Undergraduate Research, Experiential Learning, Career Services, EXCEL, Student Academic Resource Center, University Testing Center, and HIP Scholars. These areas work as a system to advance High Impact Educational Practices (HIPs) and Career Readiness at UCF.

The Opportunity:

The UCF Student Success and Well-Being Office of Career Planning and Academic Engagement is currently accepting applications for a Manager, Academic Program. This role coordinates and supports the development and implementation of inclusive, culturally responsive, and evidenced-based strategies to engage students in High Impact Practices (HIP). This includes, but is not limited to, developing the HIP Scholars Program, monitoring and gathering HIP data, working with HIP centralized offices and partners university-wide, creating programming, and working with HIP peer mentors. This position is funded by a five-year grant through the Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions Program (Title V, Part A), to expand educational opportunities for, and improve the attainment of, Hispanic students. This grant also enables HSIs to expand and enhance their academic offerings, program quality, and institutional stability, benefiting students of all backgrounds. The Manager, Academic Program reports to the Assistant Vice Provost of Career Planning and Academic Engagement in the Division of Student Success and Well Being and serves as a member of the project management team and provides regular updates to the POTENCIAL Project Manager.

This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:


  • Implement the HIP Scholars Program.

  • Implement and expand outreach plan by recruiting participants, reviewing applicants, selecting cohort, organizing and implementing trainings, supporting scholars as needed.

  • Maintain a scholar web course and trouble-shoot any ongoing issues or concerns.

  • Connect student scholars to HIP opportunities focused on non-profit internships, and undergraduate research.

  • Offer continued workshops and training for HIP Scholars after they complete the program.

  • Verify completion of milestones for student payments.

  • Provide support to HIP Scholars Peer Mentors. These students support the HIP Scholars and provide assistance to general HIP programming, innovative peer-to-peer mentoring, programing to strengthen awareness and engagement in HIPs.

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and supervise peer mentors.

  • Implement HIP initiatives university wide.

  • Develop and implement intentional outreach and engagement strategies to achieve grant objectives and increase HIP involvement among Hispanic, low-income, pre-transfer and recently transferred students.

  • Support assessment of program activities.

  • Assist with monitoring and gathering student data to increase HIP participation among Hispanic, low-income, and transfer students.

  • Develop and implement intervention strategies to reduce identified gaps.

  • Maintain assessment plans for the HIP Scholars program.

  • Connect with Partners and work in collaboration with the POTENCIAL project management team, centralized HIP offices and across university departments to increase HIP participation, sense of belonging, and 2/4-year graduation rates among Hispanic, low-income, and transfer students.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong administrative skills.

  • Experience with technology and systems for management and marketing.

  • Experience working with students or in a university setting.

  • Understanding of student success.
