How You'll Make an Impact

Aptima is excited to bring on a PM intern to assist on high priority projects and work within our Strategic Programs Office (SPO). You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management while working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of tasking, including the following:

  • Support the planning, organizing, directing, executing, monitoring, and controlling of SPO projects.
  • Support PMs to develop detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBSs) and Integrated Master Schedules (IMSs) to inform realistic schedule and cost control.
  • Support PMs in projecting, tracking and applying cost controls to effectively manage established budgets, project requirements, and labor plans.
  • Help ensure project deliverables are fully compliant with contract requirements, are reviewed in accordance with a Quality Management Plan, and are submitted on time.
  • Support risk management activities, including the timely communication of any issues that impose project risk, and assist in mitigating or avoiding those risks.
  • Apply written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with team members using email, phone, and virtual meeting technology.
  • Participate in a timely, productive, and collegial manner on a multidisciplinary project team.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of the project lifecycle and general PM practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams for daily project management duties.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence software tools is a plus.
  • Strong skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, and organization.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET US Government clearance ?
  • Completed B.A./B.S. degree in business management or a related discipline.
  • MBA or certificate in Project Management (i.e., PMP) desired.
