Position Title: Parking and Transportation Manager

Business Unit or Department: Operations

Title Position Reports to: Director of Resort Operations

# of Direct Reports: 3-5 # of Indirect Reports: 10-20

Location: Crystal Mountain, WA

Wage Range: 70,000 - 80,000 annually DOE

This position requires 5 days / week on mountain during winter season operations and 4 days / week on mountain during summer operations.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Director of Resort Operations, this position oversees and ensures safe and efficient day-to-day shuttle, parking, and RV lot operations. Plans, organizes, and coordinates workflow to maintain consistent levels of service to internal and external clients. Participates in the recommendation and administration of operational policies, procedures, and processes. Keeps accurate records and inventories related to planning, accountability, shuttle operations, ridership, and guest service. Supervises Parking, Shuttle, Parking Reservation Compliance and RV staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

This position is responsible for the following job results:

  • Consistently increasing guest satisfaction with their parking, arrival, and departure experiences
  • Oversees weekend and holiday parking reservation compliance & enforcement
  • Increased RV program EBITDA
  • A highly engaged workforce
  • Increasing the skier visits per car ratio
  • Providing highly utilized and efficiently operated transportation alternatives
  • Summer season landscape beautification and maintenance


These job results will be achieved through the following practices:

  • Hires, trains, and provides outstanding leadership to the Parking, Shuttle, and RV teams.
  • Plans, executes, manages, and evaluates the operation and flow of shuttle and parking activities, ensuring consistent levels of service. Reviews and revises transportation plan to ensure service excellence and maximum efficiency.
  • Plans, executes, manages, and evaluates the operation and flow of Crystal Mountain's RV facilities to maximize revenues and deliver service excellence. Reviews and revises RV operations and adjusts plans as necessary to achieve goals.
  • Solicits, engages, and oversees contract transportation services for transportation to and from the mountain to maximize skiers per car ratio and reduce 410 and Crystal Mountain Boulevard congestion.
  • Supervises technical/support staff. Hires, evaluates, trains, disciplines, and terminates staff in compliance with company policy as necessary to ensure smooth operations. Schedules parking attendants, shuttle operators, and RV staff and maintains driver accountability. Models and ensures safe behaviors and practices.
  • Provides feedback, coaching, and personal development to Parking, Shuttle, and RV team members.
  • Monitors budget analyzes labor costs, and projects costs of staffing needs for recommendation to management.
  • Oversees and collaborates with Crystal's marketing team on maintenance and signage projects for parking lots and shuttles.
  • Serves as a liaison with staff and guests. Acts as the front-line person for communicating and enforcing policy. Investigates situations and complaints and implements solutions. Works with individuals to resolve disputes/problems.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings, committees, and/or other related groups to communicate information regarding services and/or other pertinent information as appropriate.
  • Ensures that parking and shuttle service follows applicable rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Consistently increasing guest satisfaction with their parking and transportation needs.
  • Collaboration with Vehicle Maintenance team to ensure all vehicles are continually in a safe operating state
  • Ensures the maintenance of base area landscaping through regular grounds and landscape maintenance.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned by Director of Resort Operations, Resort Manager on Duty, or Resort President.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum age of 18
  • Valid Driver's License valid in the state of Washington.
  • Able to obtain CDL with Passenger Endorsement


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Education Required | College Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years managing teams in a complex service operations environment
  • Previous parking or transportation management experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is generally performed in an exterior (parking lots, shuttle routes) or interior office environment, with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Work hours may vary; occasional evening and frequent weekend hours are required. Frequent reaching, walking, standing, lifting, stooping, or carrying of equipment and materials may be required. May be required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Incumbents who operate shuttles must possess a valid Commercial Driver's license for operation of motor vehicles within the State of Washington with passenger certification and an acceptable driving record including five years of accident-free driving, with no recent moving violations. Such incumbents must possess first aid/CPR certification.
