Job Summary

The Research Assistantwill work on a project studying whether large language models (LLMs) make choices in simple strategic games like humans do. Involves knowledge of LLM and human behavioral data previously collected. Research Assistant is also expected to assist on special occasions with teaching needs related to the research requirements (CNS102c) and prepare grant and seminar materials.

Essential Job Duties



  • Carefully follow instructions, submit post-meeting notes on Slack, conscientiously post on Slack 1-3x/week on progress.
  • Code review and assist in code review of own code by others (carefully annotated so an outside reviewer does not need help to understand code and reproduce results).
  • Draft sections of papers describing technical methods.
  • Draft basic results expressed in tables and graphs.
  • Present results at all phases (early, mid, late) in both internal team meetings and in high-profile professional conferences.
  • Keep team appraised of updated papers and technical improvements in all LLMs on a quarterly basis.


Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of R, Python, web scraping.
  • Knowledge and experience in LLM prompt engineering.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Some knowledge of NLP (e.g. college coursework).
  • Background and interest in game theory.
  • Background and interest in very modern SOA LLMs.

Hiring Range

$18.50 - $24.75 Per Hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
