$89,800.00 - $116,700.00



  • Provides the initiative, skills, and responsibility required to give a properly maintained and constructed reliable electrical transmission system.
  • Confers with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, construction issues or scope of work/contract management issues.
  • Prepares and submits budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports as required by the Power Delivery Management Framework.
  • Inspects and reviews district projects/maintenance to monitor compliance with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), building and safety codes, or other regulations.
  • Studies job specifications to determine appropriate district maintenance/construction methods.
  • Solicits assistance of other staff members to perform all work within their capability
  • Directs and/or participates in scoping documents and work plans for maintenance, testing, or district construction projects.
  • Updates field drawings and design packets to reflect field modifications, in order to accurately represent "As Built" final conditions.
  • Leads Pre-Construction/Maintenance Work Plan Meetings with Engineering, Operations, Safety Department, technicians, and Contractor personnel to share and transfer project knowledge between all project stakeholders.
  • Instructs and trains subordinates, peers, and member cooperatives' personnel on technical, operational, and safety procedures.
  • Appraises the performance of their staff in accordance with the established plan and counsels them regarding their growth and development.
  • Approves, within the limitation of Cooperative policy, the hiring, promotion, and release or discharge of all personnel under their supervision subject to review, counsel, and approval of the Power Delivery Management and Human Resources.
  • Keeps current on related technical developments within job responsibilities.
  • Tracks and approves subordinate timesheets, PTO requests, expense reports, or invoices per AECC guidelines.
  • Reviews and approves NERC test reports per Qualified Reviewer guidelines.
  • Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or at least 6 or more years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Driver's license



PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS



  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience and Journeyman Electrical license are preferred.



ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS



  • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. There are times that work will be in an office environment as well.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION



  • Experience in transmission and substation operation/maintenance methods and procedures essential. Additional experience or knowledge in other electric utility operations helpful.
  • Surveying Experience with levels, transits, and total stations helpful. Knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), RUS Bulletin 1724E-300 and RUS Bulletin 1724E-200 helpful.
  • In pursuant of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to AECC/AECI standards and processes.
  • Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the state of Arkansas to complete work assignments.
