Job Brief Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the production employee performs tasks per the specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure quality standards are met. JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual) Production employees must understand and follow all established safety, health, quality, Food safety GMP guidelines and company guidelines and procedures are being met. Know the purpose and follow proper operation of all safety switches, interlocks and safety devices. * Must maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards. * Production employees are to check product and case codes frequently for accuracy and legibility and complete package changeovers accurately and timely. * Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues with equipment. * Follow escalation protocol in a timely manner when troubleshooting efforts fail. * Work closely with maintenance when escalation to maintenance support is needed for a mechanical issue. * Must complete and file all required quality and packaging documentation in an orderly and timely manner. * Must notify lead and supervisor of any major problems or questions, including Quality or Food Safety concerns. * Communicate processing information to designated personnel on incoming shift. * Routinely communicate with up/down stream operators to maximize line performance and ensure product integrity. * Ensure work area meets 5S guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS Requires basic mathematical and writing skills. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and remain alert at all times. Must be able to work overtime, during peak production periods. Must be able to work under minimum supervision. Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs. Must be able to perform light maintenance.
