Supports spiritual and emotional care of patients, visitors and colleagues of any and all faith traditions. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide for overall care of patients and to foster a spiritually welcoming and inclusive environment.
-Assesses and responds to requests for spiritual care intervention. -Promotes comprehensive and interfaith spiritual care throughout hospital via direct care. -Assists with planning and facilitating events, memorials, in-service trainings, and continuing education programs. -Conducts rounds in assigned patient care areas to foster interdisciplinary collaboration. -Communicates and collaborates with all members of healthcare team in a timely and sensitive manner to enhance patient care and discharge plan. -Facilitates team approach and offers a supportive, nonjudgemental presence at meetings. Experience Hospice Care Required: Master of Divinity (MDiv) Preferred: Certification with Association of Professional Chaplains, Neshama Association of Jewish Chaplains or National Association of Catholic Chaplains, and Palliative Care and Hospice Advanced Certification. Required: Commitment to be board certified by within three years of hire.
