Position Title: Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Division: 1H

Location: Salem, Oregon

Position Summary

Position contingent upon award of contract, government acceptance of candidate, and positive adjudication of government investigation.

1 Health Solutions is hiring two Licensed Clinical Social Workers in support of the Indian Health Services' Western Oregon Service Unit (WOSU) in Salem Oregon. The Contractor shall provide behavioral health services in delivery of patient care to the Indian Health Service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Provide intensive therapeutic services, consultation, and support to the student patients from Chemawa Indian School (CIS). Primary focus will be in the area of substance abuse, addictions, and Coocurring disorders (prevention, treatment, and aftercare).
  • Serve as one of the coordinators for all substance abuse activities within the Chemawa Student Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) within WOSU
  • Work closely with CIS, WOSU staff, and fellow CBHC staff in coordinating services to meet patient needs.
  • Provide case and program consultation for the development of comprehensive student behavioral health services.
  • Participate regularly in CBHC, WOSU, Area Behavioral Health Program, and CIS program staff meetings, conferences, and special education programs as appropriate.
  • Provide case, program and clinical consultation to staff at CBHC and other providers in order to ensure quality of services in accordance with AAAHC Behavioral Health Standards of Care, Quality of Care Standards, Quality Management and Improvement standards, and other applicable IHS and state Standards.
  • Assist in developing and gathering behavioral health data, including medical records, and prepare factual information and reports to assist in developing or evaluating new or existing programs in the area of substance abuse.
  • Collaborate with and provide consultation to CIS home tribal health and social services, Bureau of Indian Affairs, community services, law enforcement, the judiciary, etc. in promoting behavioral health and addiction prevention, treatment, and aftercare program activities through individual and group meetings.
  • Act as a member of multidisciplinary team for planning, implementing, and directing therapeutic services and activities for youth, which stress development of coping and decision-making skills.
  • Participates in best-practices training at CBHC, WOSU, and CIS
  • Participates in local training programs for service unit, students and staff at CIS and WOSU. Training covers addiction, prevention, treatment, and recovery process. methods of prevention and treatment, youth and family issues, orientation to crisis intervention techniques, principles of patient confidentiality and other issues pertinent to substance abuse and chemical dependence within the Indian Community.
  • Functions independently with general supervision from the CBHC Program Director, at WOSU who sets the overall objectives and resources involved. Exercises professional expertise in handling and resolving complex problems posed by assignments. Completed work is reviewed in terms of effectiveness in meeting expected results.
  • Work effectively and harmoniously with care teams, colleagues and coworkers, and with AI/AN patients and their families. Demonstrate cultural competency, awareness of and sensitivity to the cultures and traditions of American Indians and Alaskan Natives.
  • Coordinate with patients' care teams. Offer guidance and support to team members. Promote a collaborative and whole health approach to care through effective communication with primary care providers and other service unit staff.
  • Participate in accreditation and licensing processes.


Education & Experience Requirements



  • Must be a U.S Citizen
  • Master of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent degree from a social work program accredited by the CSWE (Council on Social Work Education)
  • Must possess a current, unrestricted license a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent to practice in the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
