None POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Primarily responsible for the analysis of environmental samples utilizing EPA, Standard Methods and other methods approved by regulated authorities. Examples of responsibilities for Scientist I include, sample preparation/extraction, preparation of standard s/reagents and analysis of samples using common methodologies. Candidate will be required to participate in proficiency testing for the certification of drinking waters and waste waters. Must use judgment to evaluate and adapt laboratory requirements/guidelines to customer specifications and testing needs. Because of the critical nature of the support provided, extended working hours (including weekends and holidays) are often mandatory. The Scientist I operates with a degree of independence under established policies and procedures. Normally receives guidance from Laboratory Lead and/or Senior Scientist to assure coordination of efforts with other laboratory personnel. May occasionally interact with customers and their representatives according to customers' needs/requirements. Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
