Human Resources Coordinator

Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator position. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.

Job Summary:

This position performs clerical and administrative tasks to support Human Resources operations and projects Completes routine data entry, report generation, and audit activities to ensure the accuracy of employee data in the HRIS systems. Assists with delivering core HR processes like onboarding, compensation, recruitment, employee relations, leave administration, benefits, training, wellness, and communications, as needed. Administers Human Resources policies and procedures. Provides overall support for Human Resources related activities while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and focusing on compliance.

Primary Responsibilities:


  1. Supports the HR initiatives to help improve the employee experience, including performing routine administrative and project tasks to execute human resource programs such as compensation, payroll, benefits, recruiting and training and development.
  2. Assists Recruitment team as needed for job postings and sourcing, candidate screening, interview coordination and candidate communication.
  3. Administers the pre-employment and orientation administration activities including but not limited to conducting background checks and reference verifications, preparing offer letters and onboarding documents, entry of new hires into the applicable systems, scheduling and coordinating new hire orientation, verification of I-9, and creation of ID badges.
  4. Creates and helps maintain employee personnel files.
  5. Assists with the maintenance of Fike job descriptions.
  6. Responsible for entering and tracking requested salary, job or reporting structure updates through the approval process and entry of changes into the designated system.
  7. Prepares exit paperwork for all terminations.
  8. Assists with communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership using a variety of tactics (written communications, presentation materials, Google Meet and other platforms, town halls, small group meetings, etc.) to articulate key messages.
  9. Verifies timekeeping records, maintains time and attendance records using electronic time management systems.
  10. Develops thorough understanding of back-end HRIS workflows, field and dependency to help ensure overall data accuracy, execute basic system tasks, Identify and recommend internal process improvement, deliver on internal customer requests for data/information.
  11. Reviews plan, policies and procedures, auditing for compliance with governmental requirements.
  12. Overviews the flow of Human Resources related information including data entry, retrieval, and generation of standard and ad hoc reports.
  13. Coordinates interface with other internal systems such as payroll, time and attendance, benefits, compensation, and recordkeeping.
  14. Serves as liaison with third-party vendors for data transmission and changes.
  15. Maintains professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, seminars and conferences.
  16. Participates in established networks and professional societies.
  17. Reviews professional publications.
  18. Adheres to the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) policies and procedures related to NIST 800-171 and completes all required CUI Awareness training, which includes collection, processing/handling, transmission, storage, and general safeguarding practices.
  19. Maintains the strict confidentiality of all information processed.

Job Qualifications:

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience. Two years or more of experience in Human Resources. Understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmation Action as well as other legislations related to Human Resources. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to communicate credibly and effectively. Experience with HRIS software. Proficient in all Google suite products. Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Working knowledge of general Human Resources practices, labor laws, and regulations.

PREFERRED: Professional Human Resources Certification. Experience with Applicant Tracking software, SuccessFactors, Paylocity, SalesForce, and/or Google Suite. Professional experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or in a global capacity.

Compensation



  • The starting range for this position is $22.73per hour and goes up depending on experience and qualifications.


  • This position will work first shift (Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm). May have the ability to work a hybrid work schedule.
