Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for an Executive Assistant in the Los Angeles office.

In this role you will work as part of the firm's national support team to meet the needs of attorneys and business professionals. You will perform administrative tasks and coordinate with or delegate to other firm support resources (Document Services, Travel, etc.), continually looking for ways to increase efficiency. You will focus on tasks that maximize impact for the firm and its clients and may serve as a contact for one or more specific lawyers, maintaining relevant skills for their practice areas.

The ideal candidate will be both an individual contributor and team player who actively engages with and mentors junior team members while upholding Orrick's client service standards and core values.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative tasks for attorneys and team leads, reducing partner administrative burdens.
  • Serve as a resource for organizational knowledge and encourage delegation of non-billable tasks.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships and adapt quickly to new technologies.
  • Provide office coverage as needed and communicate effectively across all organizational levels.

Practice Support:

  • Manage attorney requests, delegate tasks, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate travel and meetings, leveraging firm tools and guidelines.
  • Produce and format legal documents, collaborating with relevant departments.

Billing and Expenses:

  • Oversee expense reports and time entry, ensuring accurate billing.
  • Assist with invoice follow-up and utilize technology for billing processes.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in firm initiatives and projects, suggesting process improvements.
  • Engage in team meetings and training to enhance skills and promote innovation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; some college preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a law firm environment.
  • Strong legal terminology knowledge and excellent computer skills.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proactive, accountable, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Certified Notary preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $85,000.00 and $99,000.00.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
