GENERAL FUNCTION

The IT Manager will oversee the technical planning, implementation, and performance management of the insurance division's applications. This includes managing a team of senior administrators, ensuring the smooth operation of all systems and leading technology initiatives that align with business goals and infrastructure standards. The ideal candidate will have a good technical background, excellent management and organizational skills, and proven ability to lead issues to resolution.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Serves as a liaison between the application and infrastructure organizations to ensure alignment from inception through completion of assigned projects.
  • Continuously evaluates the capacity and performance of all insurance applications/infrastructure and provides recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure systems comply with security standards and support the execution of work to remediate security findings.
  • Partner with IT functional leads and vendors to achieve business and technical objectives.
  • Assembles, assigns, and prioritizes incoming demand for the team.
  • Identifies, assesses impact, and escalates issues (when needed) to appropriate functional areas.
  • Facilitates issue management from triage to resolution; supports the completion of root cause analysis and remediation if appropriate.
  • Confirms change management processes are followed by all team members.
  • Assists in the evaluation, development, implementation, and adoption of solutions, processes, and methodologies.
  • Maintains documentation of systems and processes for all functional areas of the department.
  • Facilitates information gathering in support of audit controls.
  • Supports the Sr Director in the development of strategic planning and roadmap evolution.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
  • 5+ years' experience leading technical teams
  • 7+ years' experience in information technology field
  • Experience in leading technical initiatives and facilitating discussions
  • SDLC understanding and basic knowledge of infrastructure technologies
  • Highly proficient and knowledgeable in MS Office applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • HIPAA or Insurance knowledge
