Commercial Lines Strategic Planning Summer Internship - Branchville, NJ (Hybrid)

Participates in the summer internship program. The summer internship program teaches participants about Selective's business and provides training in the skills and knowledge necessary to work within an assigned work team. The program includes an orientation; on-the-job assignments; special projects and assignments; meeting attendance; and the development of customer, vendor and business partner relationships. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Selective's Strategic Planning team works on our Commercial Lines, which include a broad range of insurance solutions for businesses of all sizes. The Strategic Planning team is looking for a self-motivated individual who can connect the big picture to the day-to-day tasks needed to drive that strategy. Our team partners with numerous departments throughout the company to gain a clear understanding of their operational needs and issues. This enables us to identify best practices that will maximize procedures, as well as improve efficiencies across the country - providing accurate, timely support and objective analysis. This is a hybrid position, so applicants must be within commuting distance of our location in Branchville, NJ.

• Participate in the development of the Territory Review and Regional Planning Meetings
• Monitor/update monthly reports and analysis
• Update and analyze production, profitability and productivity models
• Assist in operational process mapping

Knowledge and Requirements

• Must be a current college student to qualify.
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI is preferred.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma required. Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level.
