Description

The VP, Business Development & Customer Service will seek and drive new business opportunities, solicit RFP opportunities, manage sales and contract activities across all business units for all services offered by Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services. The VP will be responsible for developing new customers accounts while assuring contractual alignment with industry standards are completed to assure fair and equitable terms for AMES. This position will interact routinely with customers to ensure our understanding of operation issues through direct customer interaction. The position will ensure timeliness of completed RFP responses, expanding revenue through cross-selling and up-selling of services, developing strategic alliances while promoting opportunities that achieve overall financial and performance goals. This position will support leadership in operations and administrative groups to earn business for the company. This position will also provide oversight to the Stores, Shipping & Receiving and Material Sales functions.

Required Job Skills:



  • The ideal candidate will be an industry veteran with at least 5 years of sales related activity for aircraft heavy maintenance, line maintenance, component maintenance, modification, engineering and manufacturing related services for commercial transport category, regional and military type aircraft programs.
  • Previous high level of involvement directly with customers through all phases of the sales, pricing and contract negotiation processes.
  • Demonstrated competency in identifying and creating opportunities by sourcing customer projects with receiving "Request for Quotation" from customers while maintaining and ensuring success through closing those opportunities.
  • Previous experience working closely with senior and mid-level management team from pricing, scheduling and operational departments to ensure a complete and accurate proposal is presented to customer on a timely basis.
  • Demonstrated relationships within the industry through visibility and involvement at select trade shows and industry events.
  • Ability to identify the most efficient processes that produce accurate and efficient sales transactions between customer and company.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in public setting; Able to disseminate technical information in a manner easily understood by audiences of various disciplines; Able to build consensus among diverse stakeholders; Able to be assertive while maintaining diplomacy and political awareness.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, meet deadlines, make decisions and exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated reputation of high integrity, professionalism, and customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated competency in preparing and maintaining solid competitor data and analysis that supports the activities of the sales, customer services, marketing and new business development activities.
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree within a Business concentration
  • Five (5) years of management experience


Preferred Job Skills:



  • MBA or Master's Degree
  • FAA A & P and/or Aerospace related certifications
