Your Role

Are you ready to make an impact? As a Senior Design Engineer,you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organization's success. You will work closely with our dedicated teams to develop effective solutions that align with CPC's strategic goals. Summary: The Senior Design Engineer will be an integral member of the innovation team in support of CPC's businesses in addition to special projects from PSG. Primary responsibilities include conceptualization, engineering design, analysis and specification of new products, platforms, and technologies. The Senior Design Engineer should embody a logical, creative, and curious approach to product design, paired with a passion for innovation and problem solving.

  • Develop products from conceptualization to launch
  • Perform predictive engineering tasks using ANSYS
  • Collaborates and consults with Test, Manufacturing, Product Management and Quality Engineers in support of new product development
  • Partner with Sales, Applications, and Marketing to create solutions for diverse OEM markets.
  • Maintain a high level of interaction with all supporting functional areas such as R&D, Finance, Metrology, Molding, Laboratories (Research, Product Testing, and Development labs)
  • Leads or assists in efforts to resolve product performance issues
  • Adheres to all safety regulations
  • Demonstrates support of CPC core values
  • Perform other job duties as required to meet business needs.

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to do so.   • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or another related field
  • 7+ years of design and product development experience
  • Curious, creative, and tenacious problem solver
  • Design experience with fluid handling components for industrial applications
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of Finite Element Analysis
  • Competent in the design and development of plastic components.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, medical device, or medical device components
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Machining understanding or experience
  • Demonstrated history of working directly with customers to translate their needs into innovative new products.

  • Ability to work independently, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • CAD proficiency - PTC Creo, Solidworks, etc
  • Knowledge and grasp of rapid prototyping techniques and manufacturing methods
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated history of design innovation
  • Energetic and enthusiastic approach toward the definition of new products, complimented by an educated and realistic business outlook
  • Basic understanding of the fundamentals of intellectual property management
  • 5+ years' experience in design of mass-produced products such as automotive, appliances, toys, etc.

Travel:

  • Domestic and international travel up to 10%

    • This range is the pay scale for this role in Minnesota. Individual compensation is based on skills, experience, and qualifications related to this position.
