Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Supports the safe and orderly operations of Brosnan Forest by providing services in maintenance of facilities, grounds, and forestation.

Principal Duties:

Participates in customer service related activities in roles such as, but not limited to: professional hunting guide, certified shooting sports instructor, environmental outreach specialist, and guest services professional. Other duties may include:



  • Coordination and scheduling of hunting guides
  • Inventory and sales in the Brosnan Forest Gift Shop
  • Audio Visual assistance during executive conferences
  • Director of guest check-in to ensure a smooth arrival for our guests



Forestry and natural resource specialists, greenskeeper, arborist, maintenance specialist, and carpentry technician/fabricator. Provides support in the field of animal husbandry to include, but not limited to:



  • Care of sporting bird dogs through feeding, grooming, and upkeep of kennels
  • Feeding and handling of game bird species
  • Feeding, handling, sorting, vetting, and any other tasks related to cattle
  • Building and maintenance of electric fence and hard fence pastures



Provides necessary skills or training in services such as safe operation of heavy and light equipment as well as company vehicles. Performs other duties including preparation of game and sport fish for consumption and transport. Specific duties may include:



  • Butchering of cattle, deer, fish, turkey, and quail using safe food handling techniques
  • Packaging of meat in game boxes for guest transport



Provides support in the safe transportation of guests as required on and off of Brosnan Forest property and provides them with a favorable and memorable experience. Such duties could include: serving as Airport Director, assisting with logistical planning and scheduling of flights, or driving to and from airport.

Other duties include, but are not limited to: maintenance of supplemental wildlife feeding areas, road maintenance and engineering, carpentry, certified prescribed fire management technician, certified pond management technician, employee scheduling and logistics, GIS mapping, ordering of supplies and other material, coordinating with vendors, registration of guests during summer and conference season, data collection and processing using Microsoft Excel for DNR and Bird Preserve, data collection and processing using Microsoft Excel for deer harvest, creation of guide maps for hunting season, and professional musician in Lawmen Band.

Preferred Level: High School Diploma/GED

Licenses / Certifications:

Preferred: Level I Skeet Instructor, NRA Firearms Instructor, SC Prescribed Fire Manager, SC Pesticide Applicator, Commercial Driver's License
