Intern/Co-Op - Information Technology Delivery Standards & Compliance

What you will do:

Current college students of all levels will work as part of a larger team to provide hands-on support and development for information technology aspects of internal clients' business. This could include application/software development, networking infrastructure support, governance and compliance analysis, and more - all while helping clients effectively and efficiently utilize information technology resources.In addition to working alongside full-time employees carrying out the IT strategy for Consumers Energy, IT Interns will have the option to participate in a number of events within the program, including intern networking events, company tours and Intern Challenge.There are so many new, exciting opportunities in the world of IT. The Delivery Standards & Compliance Office (DSCO) identifies and mitigates delivery risk across technology, staff, and physical environments. This role will:



  • Assist in the migration of existing SharePoint job aids and training documentation into a formal/searchable knowledge management library. (May include migration planning, data migration/formatting, documentation update, and delivery status tracking/reporting.)
  • Assist with delivery testing, review, audit, and assessment activities, as needed.
  • Support the development of standardized project/product delivery tools, metrics, and reporting to mature Agile practices.
  • Support organizational change management and training associated with Project and Product delivery, System Development Lifecycle tools, templates, and processes.
  • Support execution of the governance strategy and vision through implementation and management of applicable standards and tools.

We encourage you to apply if you possess the following:

MUST be a current student to be eligible for an Intern role and actively enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or other related field. A minimum GPA of 2.7 or higher is required.

The following skills and experience may set you apart:



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications (Word/Excel/SharePoint/Outlook).
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced working environment.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork mindset.
  • General exposure to technology Project and Product delivery processes and methodologies.
  • High-level understanding of technology delivery compliance and controls practices.
  • Exposure to automation support tools.
  • Exposure/experience with Microsoft BI or artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

This role may require reporting to an assigned headquarter. Leaders will discuss the work arrangements which best fit the nature of the work along with overall business needs.
