Responsible for ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and staff by patrolling the premises, monitoring security systems, and responding to security incidents.

Essential Functions-Conduct regular patrols of the healthcare facility, including interior and exterior areas, to detect and deter security breaches, vandalism, theft, or any suspicious activities.
-Maintain a visible presence and provide a sense of security by being approachable and proactive in addressing security concerns.
-Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems to identify potential security threats or breaches
-Report any security-related incidents, hazards, or policy violations promptly to appropriate personnel.
-Control access to the facility by verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, and ensuring that only authorized individuals enter designated areas.

Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Healthcare Security Officer [CHSO] - International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety preferred Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor [CHSS] - International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety preferred Personal Drivers License (New Hampshire) - New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles preferred MGH Security RMV Check/Registry of Motor Vehicles Driving Report - MGB Internal preferred
Experience
Experience in security operations, preferably in a healthcare or similar setting. 2-3 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong observation and situational awareness skills to identify potential security threats or hazards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with individuals at all levels, including patients, visitors, and staff.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
- Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures and first aid techniques.
- Familiarity with security systems, such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Physical fitness and the ability to walk or stand for extended periods.
