Description

Writes Visa letters and provides administrative support to the Passport Services Division (PSD) located at Fort Belvoir. Reviews documentation and creates official letters on behalf of the DOD to request Visas from embassies.

Processes passport and visa applications, provides training, and performs customer service support for DoD passport agents worldwide. The letter writer verifies application packets using the Visa Passport Automated System (VPAS), sorts applications based on status (VIP versus routine) and departure date, and processes them accordingly. Prepares and reviews visa cover letters within VPAS, scans the forms into the system, and prints copies of the cover letter. Maintains all related documents and Department of Defense forms until resolution.

This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work independently within established procedures.

Salary: $29.15 per hour ($60,632 annually)

Qualifications

  • Active or Interim Secret (or higher) Clearance Required
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with database management systems (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills



REQUIRED:

* One (1) year of general work experience.

* Basic personal computer skills.

* Basic understanding of postal regulations.

* Good hand to eye coordination.

* Capable of doing repetitive tasks such as: lifting, standing, sitting, reaching, twisting, sealing envelopes, filing, and reading.

* Data entry ability.

* Ability to work in one place and transverse the office on a continuing basis.

* Ability to transport 30 lbs.

* U.S. Citizen.

PREFERRED:

* Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an office environment.

* Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an environment involving PC hardware and software, including LANs and WANs.
