About the unit 1H is a 22 bed adult critical care unit at Blodgett Hospital. 1H cares for medical ICU patients as well as some surgical ICU patients. As a team member on 1H, you will see a wide variety of different ages and types of diagnoses and participate in many different types of ICU level care. Some of those diagnoses include stroke, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and respiratory failure. You will get to learn about ventilators, sedation, paralytics, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), post cardiac arrest cooling, ICU thrombolytic therapy, and much more! We provide patient-focused inpatient care in 248 private patient rooms and outpatient services for medical, surgical and specialty care, achieving high rates of patient satisfaction. Scope of work Performs receptionist/secretarial duties and maintains confidential records, supplies and equipment per hospital and unit specific standards. Greets and directs guests on the unit in a manner that reflects a welcoming environment. Performs computer entry, schedules tests/procedures, processes orders, and performs other related activities per unit/hospital standard within a reasonable time frame. The Unit Secretary is the point person on each unit for clerical support. Responsibilities include taking phone calls, helping with directions to all visitors and outside team members to the unit (lab, radiology, patient transport, nutrition services, environmental services, etc), calling support when directed by clinical staff, assisting with discharge/admit/transfer paperwork, ordering supplies, ensuring rooms are appropriately stocked, and answering call lights for any non-direct patient care needs. Core Schedule will be a repeating set schedule and 1 shift per week.
