How will you make an impact?

As a member of our R&D engineering team you will be tasked with leading various SQA and Test Engineering activities under the direction of the Senior Manager of Software QA and Test Engineering. You will work in a highly collaborative environment alongside experienced Software and System Engineers (Opto-/Electro-Mechanical), and Applied Research Scientists. Your skillset will play a key role in our efforts to develop, test, and deploy our best-in-class medical devices to markets across the world. You will support cross-functional project teams throughout all phases of the software development process, including developing automated testing methodologies, creating software test cases, and executing and documenting testing activities. You will work in close collaboration with the software development team throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure that Glaukos software products are developed, verified, and released with the highest possible level of quality.

What will you do?
* Design, develop and execute software ad-hoc testing, non-functional testing, verification, and validation of Glaukos' current and next generation medical devices.
* Design, develop and execute software ad hoc testing, verification and validation of software tools and off-the-shelf software, as required.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and design comprehensive test plans and strategies.
* Play a significant role in the design, development, and execution of comprehensive automated testing methodologies as well as using manual testing techniques.
* Monitor and configure lab/automation systems and work with the software development team to expand the scope of testing within the CI/CD pipeline.
* Participate in the creation and management of formal (V&V) software test protocols, reports, and traceability matrices.
* Actively participate in defect identification, logging, and tracking and contribute to sustaining activities such as complaint investigations and reporting as required.
* Conduct system level integration testing and hardware testing as required.
* Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Manager of Software QA and Test Engineering.

How will you get here?
* 5+ years of experience in Software QA/Test Engineering.
* Experience with ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 is preferred.
* Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industry is preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to write test protocols and test methods for existing and new software projects.
* 2+ years of Python programming experience is required. Other High-Level programming experience is a plus.
* Experience developing and executing manual and automated software tests from requirements specifications.
* Experience with hardware testing for medical devices is a plus.
* Good knowledge of CI/CD is required.
* Experience with issue management and source code control tools.
* Experience with requirements management software is desirable.
* Highly collaborative with excellent communication and analytical skills.
* Self-directed/motivated and willing to learn and explore new technologies.
* Connected device and web service testing experience is a plus.
* ISTQB or SQA certifications is a plus.
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific discipline; electrical engineering, computer science or computer engineering.
