Our team in Space & Defense is looking for an Associate Design Engineer to join them. You will report to the ECAD Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA.

As an Associate Design Engineer, you will:

Assist design engineers in creating and carrying out design verification test plans for electronics products. You will be involved starting at during design review for new projects and will ultimately help transition products into production.

Task may include:

  • Assisting with Stocking and Maintaining Electronics Lab and test equipment

  • Troubleshooting electronics circuits to the chip level.

  • Reading and understanding electronics schematics

  • Developing and documenting tests to validate circuit performance

  • performing tests and documenting test results to validate circuit specifications

  • Assist in training productiontechnicians

  • Assist design engineers in developing test boards (including pcb layout)

  • Potentially writing software to interface with electronics under test

  • Programming microprocessors and FPGAs

  • Maintaining test equipment

  • Assisting in organization of large electronics lab serving multiple engineers

  • Assist design engineers in development and maturation of new technologies

  • Repair/modify circuits with SMT soldering

  • Proven experience in electro-mechanical assembly

  • Possess the ability to use a microscope or magnifier for the fine detail work

To be considered for Associate Design Engineer, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Associate degree in engineering with 7 years of electrical/mechanical design experience or a bachelors degree in engineering with 1 year of experience.

  • Experience designing electronic circuits and understand electronic parts and interaction of electronic components with a knowledge of electronic packaging, interconnection methodologies, and printed wiring board design techniques.

  • Working knowledge of engineering principles, documentation standards, and drafting practices.

  • Experience communicating with the technical community including customers and vendors.

  • Experience handling multiple activities while staying structured and organized.

  • Proficient usage of electrical and mechanical CAD tools.

Salary Range Transparency:

Blacksburg, VA $65,000.00-$85,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
