Position Overview


Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership, management, and oversight for a broad range of faculty development programming across the faculty career cycle. The primary function of this position is to deliver programming to support faculty success, including New Faculty Orientation, faculty development and academic leader workshops. The person in this role is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and facilitating workshops, faculty groups, speaker visits, and special events. Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Faculty Success and Programming Coordinator supports the development and planning of new strategic initiatives related to faculty of various appointment types and academic leaders. The position will help to identify topics and sources for faculty success programming and activities, develop and deliver training materials, and compile reference tools/ file for the College.

The position gathers and analyzes information to support data driven decision making and program development to support faculty success and productivity. The successful candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize.

The Faculty Success and Programming Coordinator will interact with the Department Chairs, the Center for Teaching Excellence, The Division of Research and Economic Development ( DORED), the Center for Academic Excellence, and Academic Affairs to support programs and processes that enhance faculty recruitment, retention, and promotion.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The College of Business and Economics is one of ten academic units (Colleges and Schools) at North Carolina A&T State University. Located in Greensboro, NC, NC A&T is a public, doctoral/research, 1890 land-grant university committed to exemplary teaching and learning, scholarly and creative research, and effective engagement and public service. The University is on a journey to become a Research 1 (R1) institution.

The Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T State University has proudly maintained accreditation by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business ( AACSB International) since 1979. The Accounting accreditation has been in place since 1986. The most recent reaffirmation of accreditation occurred in 2021. The leadership team for the Deese College includes the Dean, Associate Dean of
Research and Operations, the Associate Dean of Student Success & Programming, the Assistant Dean/ MBA Director, the MACC Director, the Director of the Transportation Institute, five academic Chairpersons, about 14 administrative services staff and 2 technical services staff.

A faculty of over 75 (65 tenured and tenure-track) teach in the Departments of Accounting and Finance, Business Information Systems and Analytics, Economics, Management, and Marketing and Supply Chain Management. Faculty are tasked with providing quality teaching and learning supported by relevant research and service. The student body consists of approximately 1,900 undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduate degrees are awarded in Accounting, Business Analytics, Business Information Technology, Economics, Finance, Management Information Systems, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain Management.

The graduate degrees offered are the MBA and Master of Accountancy degrees.
Minimum Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required; for candidates demonstrating
comparable independent educational or developmental activities related to teaching. In addition, the position minimums
should satisfy any accreditation requirements in the specified area of instruction.

  • Experience within Higher Education
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and/ or implementing professional development programming for faculty or staff.
  • Experience presenting to a diverse audience, including the ability to clearly articulate and present information.
  • Experience that demonstrates the ability to evaluate programs and ensure continuous process improvement.
