This position provides essential support for the operational maintenance and sanitation of campus buildings, aiming to ensure a safe, functional, clean, efficient, and attractive living and learning environment. You will troubleshoot issues, provide services, and respond to requests from customers and staff. This role requires readiness to address emergencies or unforeseen situations. Assignments may rotate to meet departmental needs and encourage cross-training. At this level, the ideal candidate has intermediate skills in HVAC and refrigeration systems including, but not limited to, water source heat pumps, direct expansion, and electrical and plumbing systems. The HVAC Specialist II ensures all components adhere to national and state codes and performs preventative maintenance and repairs to HVAC systems. On-call responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor. Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in heating, ventilation and/or air conditioning; or a high school diploma and 4 years of relevant experience. Health Assessment Required: UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position. Special Instructions to the Applicants: Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business. May be required to participate in respiratory, medical examination, and training in use of respirators.
