Machine Operator

Job Description Summary

1.Perform job task to specific work instructions for operation that is being performed.
2.Complete daily paperwork (i.e. inspection reports, checklists, timesheets, tagging)
3.Comply with workshop production schedule.
4.Meet established productivity goals.
5.Comply with MFBI safety practices and work instructions.
6.Be familiar with machines (i.e Fuji or Mori) for machining/turning purposes.
7.Enter offsets.
8.Perform quality checks.
9.Use specialized fixture gages.
10.Replace tool and inserts.
11.Use standard measuring equipment.
12.Must be a responsible person and have a cooperative attitude to assist management in the performance of his/her work.
13.Keep work areas clean and safe.
14.Promote continuous improvement.
15.Stop production to correct quality problems as applicable
16.Report problems to immediate supervisor
17.Comply with Lean Manufacturing practices (5S, TPM, Small Group Activities).
18.Demonstrates average mathematical aptitude

Job Description

  • Employee starts out in the position learning the basic job responsibilities that they are placed in. Employee will progress to Level 2 only when the supervisor feels that they can qualify in a Skill Level 2 role. If the employee does not demonstrate the necessary skills to be a Machine Operator they will be returned to their existing position. Employee needs basic understanding of quality systems. 0-1 year in position (based upon supervisors discretion)

Required Skills and Education

GED or High School Diploma

This position has an estimated pay rate of $17.64 to $22.11per hour, dependent on experience.
