What You Can Expect As a Senior Accountant in Houston, you will report to Accounting Manager and you will be an integral, hands-on team member collaborating with developers, project managers and internal departments throughout the full project life-cycle. You will be responsible for timely and accurate general ledger accounting and financial reporting and will provide essential accounting support to project teams and senior management. Responsible for all transactions, accounting records, and financial reporting, for multiple entities. Will develop a working knowledge of each entity's business operations and act as the primary Accounting Department contact Perform monthly and annual closing processes for assigned entities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) reporting requirements to ENGIE parent company Prepare and deliver external partnership reporting. Includes Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) financial statements, budget to actual analysis, and other reporting as requested by the partner Work with asset management teams to ensure all project finances are accurately reflected and reconciled. Will establish and lead recurring meetings to discuss project status, review outstanding receivables and commitments, and cash flow position Ensure customer billings and expenses for Operations & Maintenance (O&M) projects are processed and recorded timely each month. Interface with external auditors and preparation of financial schedules and required requests Meet with Treasury on cash management, debt payments, partnership distributions and ad hoc requests. Responsible for providing Treasury with cash projections Develop processes, drive continuous improvement, coordinate requirements upstream and downstream in the organization Perform ad-hoc projects as needed, including those which may involve complex or advanced accounting concepts Comply with all ENGIE North America policies and procedures Carry out other duties as assigned What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in which you completed courses in Accounting, Finance or other related disciplines Minimum 5 years relevant experience Strong accounting and financial reporting skills Strong Microsoft office suite skills, expertise in use of Microsoft Excel Tools used for the job may include Microsoft Office Tool Suite, Cartesis, SAP Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with internal customers and external auditors Strong analytical and problem solving skills Deadline driven and ability to plan ahead to ensure smooth close processes Strong-interpersonal skills and self-motivated Work in time sensitive environment, may be outside of usual business hours Ability to meet highest attendance requirements Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy Additional Details This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy, 3 days working in the office and 2 days working from home Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies; Compensation Salary Range: $74,900 - $114,770 USD annually This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
