Medium Truck Driver

DUTIES:

• Operates vehicles with trailers to transport personnel and cargo over specified routes to local or distant points according to requirements.
• Loads and secures cargo ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and vehicle capability.
• Performs operator level inspections and maintenance on assigned vehicles (includes tow vehicle and trailer) and equipment.
• Performs other duties in accordance with Mission Support Requirements as directed.
• Must be able to comprehend detailed instructions and be at the pick-up or drop off sites at the specified times given.
• Required to navigate either assisted with a GPS or unassisted using a road map, aerial photos, or a 1/50000 square military map and protractor to plot specific grids given.
• Required to operate the assigned vehicle in a safe manner over various road conditions to include unimproved roadways in restricted terrain.
• Frequently uses mobile radio communications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Experience:

  High School Diploma or equivalent.

  Excellent written and oral communications skills.

  Proficient in standard military terminologies and radio procedures.

  
  
• 
  

  Must obtain or be able to obtain a Class D Chauffer's License within 30 days of hire.

  
  

Desired Experience:

• 
  

  12 months experience driving with Class D Chauffer's License or higher.
