Operating Systems and Kernel Internals: Deep understanding of OS internals, especially Linux/BSD/Windows NT, and experience working on kernel-level components. Microprocessor Architectures: Solid knowledge of modern microprocessor architectures, including multiprocessor programming, cache architectures, and memory barriers. Hardware Bring-Up and System Knowledge: Hands-on experience with hardware bring-ups (CPU, boot loaders, SMP/NUMA, interrupt controllers, chipsets, PCIe, UEFI). Experience and Education: 6-8 years of relevant industry experience and a Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field. Debugging and Analytical Skills: Strong debugging skills and the ability to troubleshoot build issues, performance optimization, and automation scripts. Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience with Version Control Systems: Familiarity with tools like Git, Gerrit, or Perforce for collaborative code reviews and version control. Familiarity with System Performance Analysis: Knowledge of performance tuning and workload optimization for modern computing systems.
