Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 10 years relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

Lead a high-profile campaign to develop new RF satellite payload solutions for a National Security Space constellation, working with payload architects and design teams to formulate an innovative and cost-effective approach and capture a major production contract under a competitive acquisition.

As a senior program manager within the Space Systems business area, you will lead teams of satellite payload architects and engineers who specialize in space electronics design and manufacturing. You will be responsible for program execution, customer relationships, and program sales/earnings/cashflow goals and forecasts. In partnership with our Business Development professionals, you will serve in a lead role for multi-$100M proposals. Working with engineering project managers, you will have responsibility for formulating program plans, schedules, risk management strategies, and competitive pricing strategies. You will serve as the primary General Dynamics representative to our prime contractor customers, and also advocate for General Dynamics strategies to officials within U.S. Government program offices. You will present program status and strategies to corporate executives and customer senior leaders.

We encourage you to apply if you have these preferred skills or experiences: Proven program manager on multi-$100M programs including both development and production; experience with high-reliability spaceflight electronics for National Security Space; strong foundation in Earned Value Management and structured risk management.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations
  • Substantial knowledge of products and technologies including current and potential applications
  • Ability to establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
  • Ability to lead others in team building, conflict resolution, motivation, and leadership

What sets you apart:

  • Experience with RF satellite payload missions, nomenclature, and associated Government customer offices.
  • Track record of working collaboratively with highly experienced engineers and architects to solve technical and programmatic challenges.
  • Experience working with spaceflight RF and digital electronics, software, firmware, and digital signal processing.
  • Success in leading U.S. Government programs with earnings at risk; in particular, a track record of achieving high award fee scores.
  • Experience leading programs with a "firm fixed price" contract type.
  • Experience interacting with corporate executives, including presentations of strategy recommendations, engagement approval requests, and program execution status.


Target salary range: USD $198,921.00/Yr. - USD $215,239.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
