$1,213 per 1 credit with upward adjustment for years of service at Marist. Pay may vary depending on credits pertaining to online, graduate, music, or lab courses.



Job Summary:



The School of Social & Behavioral Sciences invites applications for Part-Time Faculty positions in the newly developed Master of Social Work (MSW) fully online asynchronous program. The program launches in Summer 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Instructors are required for the following Summer 2025 session starting on Monday June 9 and running for 8 weeks. Specific courses that require instructors are:



  • SWMP502: Human Behavior in The Social Environment
  • SWMP601: Assessment & Diagnosis for Trauma Informed Practice


Qualified candidates may have opportunities to teach multiple or additional courses as the program grows and develops. Faculty responsibilities include teaching assigned courses, developing and enhancing course materials, assisting students as needed, and assessing student performance. Positions are offered on an as-needed basis.



Minimum Qualifications:




  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program is required.




Essential Functions:




  • Teach in one or more content areas relevant to social work practice, policy, and/or research.
  • Design and facilitate interactive, engaging online learning experiences in an asynchronous environment.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to ensure alignment with CSWE accreditation standards and program outcomes.
  • Consult with Digital Education in the design and implementation of Bright Space Course Sites.
  • Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
  • Flexible schedule is preferred for student support.



Preferred Qualifications:




  • Prior teaching experience, particularly in online or asynchronous learning environments.

About the Department/School:


The Master of Social Work (MSW) program offers a dynamic and innovative online learning experience that prepares students for advanced professional social work practice. Faculty in this program play a critical role in engaging students in a robust, interactive, and supportive online environment that rivals traditional in-person programs. Comprehensive guidance and support will be provided during course development and delivery.
The Social Work & Sociology department is one of four departments in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The other departments are psychology, criminal justice, and teacher education. The School also has graduate programs as follows: MA School Psychology; MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling; Masters of Arts in Teaching; MS in Education, Contemporary Curriculum and Instruction.
