Summary:

Processes payroll each pay period and off-cycle weeks as required; Maintains associated payroll system utilized; Maintain required documentation and backup as required by retention policy and for audits; Coordinates with third party vendors and provides required data timely; Responsible for related governmental reporting; Exhibit flexibility in schedule to meet payroll processing timelines; Collaboration and open communication with Human Resources is required; Must have an knowledge and understanding of federal and state payroll tax laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all procedures required to support the automated time and attendance system and the automated payroll system for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Prepares, processes or maintains associated records and reports
  • Maintains personnel records associated with payroll operations and performs related reporting functions.
  • Communicates with management personnel, employees and others regarding payroll matters.
  • Maintains confidentiality and integrity of Protected Health Information or "PHI".
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Other information:

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business required or
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Business
  • Certification in payroll
  • 10 years or more of equivalent work history in lieu of degree

Professional Experience Requirements:
* Requires five (5) years of Accounting experience in Payroll.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

  • Knowledge of financial accounting procedures and systems as they related to payroll accounting.
  • Proficient in the use of keyboard and basic computer applications.
  • Proficient at an intermediate level in the use of spreadsheet software such as Excel
