We are presently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Manager whose primary responsibility will be the leadership of Excelitas Boulder's coating, fabrication or assembly teams. Is responsible for direction and coordination of all manufacturing activities in their respective area. Responsibilities include working with Materials on planning and scheduling, and maintaining efficiency and utilization as well as Continuous Improvement. TheSenior Manufacturing Manageris also responsible for recruitment, training, evaluation and development of manufacturing staff.

They will lead and manage the team on a daily basis to achieve site goals and overall business objectives. In this role, the manager is responsible for leading the team on a daily basis ensuring the operational success to meet today's needs while leading their team to develop the capabilities necessary to meet Boulder Site's growth plan.

Key Responsibilities:





  • Production Oversight:




    • Supervise daily manufacturing operations to ensure the precision optics products are produced according to company standards and timelines.



    • Oversee the implementation of production schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting customer delivery expectations.





  • Quality Control:




    • Ensure that all products meet the required quality standards and specifications.



    • Work closely with the quality control team to implement inspection protocols, identify defects, and initiate corrective actions.





  • Process Optimization:




    • Analyze production processes and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and increase product quality.



    • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to optimize workflows and minimize waste.





  • Team Management:




    • Lead and develop a team of manufacturing engineers, technicians, and operators.



    • Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluations to ensure team members are meeting high standards.





  • Equipment and Technology:




    • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of precision manufacturing equipment used in optics production.



    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and advancements in optics manufacturing to ensure the company remains competitive.





  • Cross-Department Collaboration:




    • Work closely with R&D, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth transitions from design to production.



    • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align manufacturing capabilities with customer demands and market trends.





  • Safety and Compliance:




    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards, particularly related to the handling of materials and equipment used in optics manufacturing.



    • Promote a culture of safety and implement best practices to avoid accidents and injuries.







Qualifications:





  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a Technical discipline such as physics, chemistry, materials science. Master's Degree preferred.



  • 10 + years of experience in a Manufacturing/Operations management level or above.



  • Experience in optical fabrication, coating or assembly production experience highly desired.



  • Experience managing teams



  • Proficient leadership, team building and conflict resolution skills



  • Proficient in data management in ERP systems, specifically SAP.

Pay Range: $135,000K-$170,000K annually, depending on experience

Our facility in Boulder, Coloradohas key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines. This facility specializesin the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications in lasers, materials processing, instrumentation, life sciences, avionics, and defense.

This site offers capabilities that include substantial design and engineering resources, comprehensive optical fabrication and coating capabilities, advanced assembly technology and an extensive in-house metrology lab.
