Location: Morrisville, NC (This role follows a schedule of three days in the office and two days working from home).

The SMB segment is Lenovo ecommerce's largest and most profitable segment. This is a high-performance team recognized at the highest levels in Lenovo. SMB e-commerce team ideates new business ideas, creates strategy, and drives go-to-market plans to bring them to market. The initiatives can range from new products and services, improvements to the user experience, new marketing programs, partnerships, adding new benefits for our customers to further accelerate our growth and vision, and/or enabling transformation in the ways we identify, acquire, retain or convert customers. These are high-visibility roles that interface across the large e-commerce team globally. We are given the freedom to dream big and then bring these to reality.

We are looking for a seasoned leader who can look beyond the day to day to identify ways to scale and optimize the pieces of this segment. The Director leading the Global SMB eCommerce team will need to have a solid grasp of e-commerce, the SMB landscape and customer dynamics, telesales and analytics (business and customer). From solving problems to consensus building, this individual should have the ability to build a high impact plan based on SMB and eCommerce expertise, competitive positioning, insights, data and trends, and then execute in a matrixed environment, while managing a team of SMB eCommerce program managers. Key traits of this individual will be bias for action, ability to creatively problem solve in a fast-paced environment, resilience, ability to deal with ambiguity, ROI-minded, and ability to bring logic and smart solutioning to all situations. This role will involve driving results through influence, collaboration and building credibility by delivering meaningful value consistently into the organization. The ideal candidate will be an SMB eCommerce expert, curious, have a passion for eCommerce, and strength in working across teams to drive common priorities and solutions.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Scaling the SMB eCommerce business
  • Annual planning and prioritization (market sizing, opportunity identification, business cases, technology requirements, global interlocks)
  • Lead the evolution and expansion of the SMB Segment and Lenovo Pro program, including competitive positioning of our offerings, One Lenovo solutions development and services-led go to market
  • Run a full global business management process to monitor performance and progress on a regular cadence across regions and ensure cross coordination and alignment of key strategies and go-to-market. This includes:
    • Global business performance (BMS) and process alignment
    • Customer segmentation data transformation and enablement
    • Connecting with sales teams on digital roadmap and training
  • Partner with analytics team to ensure key business insights are surfaced, communicated to stakeholders, and applied to improve performance
  • Help define the product and services roadmap
  • Project manage new product launches and regional rollouts
  • Form partnerships with internal BU counterparts and external companies/vendors to drive business development activities
  • Present sound strategy proposals and execution plans to both executives and regional teams
    • Coordinate w/ geo teams to align the above inputs
  • Work w/ User Experience and Web Product teams to continuously improve onsite performance, test new ideas and implement data driven site optimization and personalization.
  • Define the IT roadmap for future improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with community managers to leverage community to drive insights and support future developments.

Basic Requirements:

  • BA/BS with 15 years combined experience working in the eCommerce space in various capacities.
  • Experience with Small Businesses

Preferred skills:

  • MBA is highly preferred
  • Ability to recognize business needs, develop plans, build consensus, and execute in a highly matrixed environment
  • An optimist, comfortable with ambiguity, passionate about helping shape the future for the best through constant improvement and willing to take risks
  • Segment experience
    • Experience with sales and conversion goals
    • Expertise in using web analytics and sales data to drive decisions and identify opportunities for improvement, and to validate the success of key site changes/enhancements
    • Superb conceptual thinking and problem-solving at all levels, ability to execute a plan with high attention to detail and desire to drive that plan through to completion
  • Working knowledge of telesales
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
