Assistant Professor of Applied Behavior Analysis

The Department of Learning Sciences is a highly productive, externally funded, interdisciplinary group of faculty whose collective mission is to improve the human condition through data-driven investigation of the learning process, the design of effective and state-of-the-art learning environments, and the development of learning science professionals in 5 distinct areas of specialization: Applied Behavior Analysis, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Educational Psychology, Learning Technologies, and Special Education.

The department of Learning Sciences in Georgia State University's College of Education and Human Development invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to join the program faculty in Applied Behavior Analysis beginning August 1, 2025. The successful candidate will have experience in the application of behavior analysis to matters of social importance, broadly defined. Scholars with expertise in areas that are novel or traditionally under-represented in applied behavior analysis, as well as scholars with expertise in basic or translational research methodologies in behavior analysis, are especially encouraged to apply. As a campus with a diverse student body, we also encourage applications from individuals with experience related to mentoring under-represented student populations in applied behavior analysis. Tenure-track faculty are expected to conduct research, teach courses, advise students and participate in university, college, and community service as appropriate.

Ph.D in behavior analysis, special education, psychology or related fields at the time of appointment.

Comprehensive knowledge of behavior analysis, demonstrated ability to effectively teach diverse cohorts of undergraduate and graduate students, ability to build and sustain an active program of high-quality research, and the potential for securing external funding.

A current Board Certified Behavior Analyst ( BCBA) credential at the time of appointment is required.

A criminal background check is required.
