GENERAL FUNCTION

The Eyewear Designer Intern uses design education and intuition to help support and collaborate with the Design team to design and develop innovative products.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Collaborate with a team to design and develop innovative products, including eyewear, helmets, electronics, and accessories, in line with the brand's unique and innovative vision.
  • Contribute to the evolution of market-leading products from concept and development through production.
  • Translate concepts and ideas from brainstorming and strategy sessions into tangible designs with shape, form, and alternative solutions.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of finish in all aspects of design.
  • Stay informed of current market dynamics and fashion trends to ensure relevance and innovation in designs.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SubD software; experience with Alias, Rhino, Blender, and/or Gravity Sketch preferred.
  • Ability to create clear sketches that effectively communicate design intent and form development, suitable for use in model building (both manual and CAD).
  • Strong communication skills, both visually and verbally, to articulate design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Previous internship or work experience in similar roles or within comparable business units.
  • Basic understanding of Oakley's consumer demographics and preferences.

Pay Range: $27/hr - Undergraduate. $35/hr - Graduate.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
