Stevedore Superintendent

A Day in the Life:

EGT, LLC is seeking a hardworking individual with a positive attitude to fill the role of Stevedore Superintendent in the Longview, WA area. This individual must be able to think critically, communicate openly and honestly, and earn and maintain the trust and respect of union employees and colleagues. Stevedore Superintendents plan and manage safe and efficient vessel and dock cargo operations as executed by Union personnel.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated, and employees and management have a common goal of zero injuries.
• Compile, manage and interpret cargo documentation from multiple sources
• Plan the timeline and gear, equipment and materials requirements for cargo operations
• Work with vessel to develop vessel loading rotations.
• Oversee ocean going vessel and river barge loading operations.
• Hire longshore labor based on contract, and company requirements
• Manage Longshore supervision to maximize safety and efficiency
• Interface professionally and courteously with industry partners in person, by phone and in writing
• Communicate operational details to internal and external partners including vessel crew with potential language barriers
• Learn and demonstrate proficiency in all applicable safety rules and regulations
• Learn and demonstrate proficiency in the ILWU labor contract
• Continually strive to improve operational processes to increase safety, quality and efficiency
• Demonstrate the company's core values: Act as One Team, Drive for Excellence, and Do What's Right
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience
• 2+ years experience in export operations, preferred
• Commitment to continuous learning and leadership in areas of operations
• Experience utilizing SAP or other MRP system is preferred
• Be willing and able to work outdoors, day and night, weekends and weekdays, in all weather conditions
• Be able to climb ladders, stairs, ship's gangways
• Be on call when not on site as needed

• Work Schedule: 24 hour rotating shift

EGT, LLC is a joint venture between Bunge, a global leader in agribusiness, food and ingredients, Pan Ocean America, an affiliate of Harim, an integrated Korean company that operates agri-trading & logistics business, and Agtegra, a farmer-owned cooperative. The Company owns and operates a state-of-the-art export grain terminal at the Port of Longview, Washington as well as four facilities in Montana designed to supply the export terminal.
