JOB MISSION:

Your role at New Balance as an Inventory Financial Analyst within the Finance group is to:

  • Ensure invoices get matched to purchase order receipts so that they can be processed for payment.
  • Ensure invoices are processed on a timely basis to avoid becoming past due
  • Plan and manage retail store physical inventories
  • Help ensure accuracy of retail store on hand inventory
  • Become an "inventory expert"
  • Assist with month end close responsibilities

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Perform daily invoice batch matching process to bulk match retail store invoices from New Balance Wholesale and 3rd party vendors.
  • Investigate older, unmatched invoices, determine cause and work to get them matched to purchase order receipts so that they can be processed for payment. This will include working with Store Managers to make corrections and providing analyses to vendors
  • Work diligently to prevent invoices from becoming past-due for payment. Must be aware of the invoice status for each vendor and work accordingly to ensure older invoices get matched in the system prior to their due date.
  • Run weekly/monthly report to give Retail Store Managers visibility to invoices that are not matched to purchase order receipts due to receiving issues.
  • Complete and finalize retail store physical inventories. This will involve investigating large unit variances (making corrections if possible), creating an in-depth and detailed analysis of the physical inventory variance by product brand and model to show the Store Manager areas where improvement is needed and running the meeting to go over the results with the District Manager and Store Manager.
  • Assist retail store associates with receiving/inventory issues, advising them on the best way to make corrections and provide help when needed.
  • Detect areas of concern that could have a negative impact on a store's on-hand inventory, alert Management to these areas of concern and determine what corrective actions should be taken.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong computer skills. Excellent Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Professional and confident with an ability to work with all levels of the organization, especially
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work well in cross functional teams
  • Experience in retail merchandising software such as Aptos is a plus. Familiarity with D365 also desired.
