What you'll do:

Responsible for ensuring the product and service meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance for SRUS. Responsibilities include ensuring that all external and internal requirements are met before SRUS products and installs reach customers. Responsible for inspecting installations and products identifying oversights, mistakes or non-conformity issues.

  • Analyze and implement QA programs and systems.
  • plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure new finished product quality
  • Work closely with department heads to ensure the QA levels are accurate and meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Work closely with all levels of management to determine needs, develop strategies, and provide procurement sources in support of those needs.
  • Perform analysis to determine QA needs for the company.
  • Compile and report on QA issues based on company's fluid functions and projects
  • Apply strategic planning to determine company, department or unit objectives
  • Allocate use of available resources
  • Evaluate current business processes and systems
  • Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
  • formulate department/unit policies and practices
  • Responsible for the achievement of department/division/unit productivity and quality goals
  • Draft quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Interpret and implement quality assurance standards
  • Evaluate adequacy of quality assurance standards
  • Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data
  • Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems
  • Work with OM to plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
  • Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues
  • Collect and compile statistical quality data
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
  • Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions
  • Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities
  • Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards
  • Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers
  • Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Monitor risk management activities
  • Responsible for document management systems
  • Ability to work around flashing, strobing, and steady burn warning lights.
  • Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
  • Be proactive in the development of Quality improvement techniques at The Shyft Group - Strobes-R-Us.

What you need to be successful:

  • Understanding of business practices

  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Understanding in planning, organizing and meeting goals for short term and long term for the company

  • Must be confident in decision making, judgment, coaching, adaptability, information and resource management
  • Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience
  • Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
  • Product or industry-specific experience
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
  • Experience working in an established Quality system is preferred.
  • Must complete Process Capability Training within 9 months of starting position.
  • Must have working knowledge of shop floor math and ability to read and interpret blueprints
