General Summary:

As a key member of the team, the Product Designer plays a critical role in shaping the user experience and visual design of USSFCU's digital products, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, visually appealing, and user-centric designs that align with our brand and business objectives.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data analysts to define and refine product strategies, identify user needs, and develop design concepts that meet business goals
• Design and develop high-quality user experiences for web and mobile applications, including wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
• Conduct user research to inform design decisions and ensure user-centered design principles are applied throughout the design process
• Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and design tools to ensure consistency across products and teams
• Work closely with the development team to ensure design concepts are technically feasible and meet business requirements
• Present design work and plans to stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and executives
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve design skills and knowledge
• Most importantly: participate in a culture of open access, fast failures, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience:

3+ years of product design experience.

An eye for high-quality, well-crafted visual and interaction design, and a passion for UI details

Experience working independently to explore concepts from beginning to end

Demonstrated ability to design simple solutions to complex user problems

Experience handling complex projects with overlapping organizational lines

Proficiency in prototyping your ideas to help articulate nuanced design decisions

Experience with Agile workflow

Skills:

• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design systems
• Can reduce complex challenges down to the right balance of flexibility, power, and ease of use
• Skilled in explaining their work, process, and decisions to cross-functional stakeholders and who craves feedback to help produce the best work
• Set a high-quality bar, attention to detail, and helps teams deliver high quality polished experiences.
• Self-starter with great communication and organizational skills who enjoys collaborating with other disciplines

Communication: Must have superior interpersonal skills and be comfortable engaging with people from a wide variety of roles, cultures, and economic backgrounds.

Location: Remote opportunities in the following states ONLY: MD & DC (Minimum $98,527.91 - $147,791.87), VA, CT, FL, IL, LA, MA, NC, SC, TX, New York, NY (Minimum $99,325.71 - Maximum $148,988.57) and Seattle, WA (Minimum $94,140.03 - Maximum $141,210.05)
