DataBank is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager Lead, PMO to join our team. Due to the success of the Project Management Office (PMO), DataBank is seeking additional leadership in the PMO.

The Sr. Project Manager Lead, PMO is a pivotal role that will report to the Senior Director, PMO. This position marks the commencement of our effort to build a comprehensive, robust project management team. The appointed individual for this role will initially manage, guide, and form a dynamic project management team (currently composed of one project manager), as well as to directly manage projects concerning DataBank's internal processes or functions with cross-functional and inter-departmental implications. Depending upon the nature of the project, they might require working independently or in collaboration with a team of project managers that report to the Senior Director, PMO.

The Sr. Project Manager Lead, PMO is earmarked as a primary liaison for company stakeholders on critical change initiatives, assisting staff through the assigned projects, and working in sync with the business to develop and implement transition plans, complete with ongoing success measures to sustain the changes influenced by the overarching projects.

As we aim to expand our project management team under the guidance of the Sr. Project Manager Lead, PMO, we also intend to delegate some day-to-day management responsibilities currently fulfilled by the Senior Director, PMO. This strategic move is expected to minimize the project management load on the Senior Director while fostering growth and dynamism in the broader team. Ultimately, our goal is to have the Sr. Project Manager Lead, PMO dedicatedly manage a team of exceptionally skilled Project Managers, making this position foundational to our vision of a larger, more versatile team.

The ideal candidate must have experience managing people and possess at least one of the following certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Program Management Professional (PgMP), or Certified Project Director (CPD).

Responsibilities

  • Accountable as part of the Project Management Office (PMO) to deliver on project objectives, deliverables, and controls.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and leadership to the team members
  • Assist with quality assurance of work completed by team members
  • Ensure projects are being completed on time and within the defined scope
  • Provide periodic training on designated topics for team members
  • Work with management to prioritize projects as necessary
  • Help remove roadblocks for team members
  • Holds weekly one-on-one meetings with team members
  • Provides annual reviews to team members
  • Plans, organizes, monitors, and controls projects using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure efficient and effective project completion.
  • Develop and socialize potential risk mitigation strategies.
  • Effectively communicates with managers, peers and business partners on deliverables, timelines and support needed.
  • Partners with the business to develop and transition plans, including ongoing success measures, to sustain the change.
  • Responsible for providing updates on project timelines, budgets, and constraints. Required to create and provide project documents.
  • Collaborate across teams and build broad-based business relationships across the organization.
  • Resolve conflict derived from competing priorities across different teams within DataBank to drive a solution that meets the needs of the business.
  • Able to organize detailed Development, IT and Network projects around technical dependencies.
  • This position requires the employee to travel for work <15% of the time, or as needed to support the business

Qualifications

  • 5+ plus years of project management experience
  • Data Center or IT industry experience preferred
  • Possesses at least one of the following certifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP)
  • Certified Project Director (CPD)
  • 2+ years of managing project managers
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that has high visibility and evolving structure
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail, confident enough to raise questions and escalate when necessary
  • Collaborates well in a team environment
  • Able to build broad-based business relationships across the organization using influencing skills while resolving conflict with minimal noise
  • Possesses the skills to persuade, convince, influence or encourage employees at the L2 & L3 level to obtain support or produce effects on the tactical and strategi objectives related to projects being managed
  • Provides advice and fact-based recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence required to interact with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage competing needs and drive to quality despite changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Ability to gain a solid understanding of various operations and support functions and consult/influence leaders on business opportunities
  • Above average skills with Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with Project Management tools (SmartSheets, Monday.com, etc.)
  • Experience with Sigma preferred
  • Must be able to travel for work <15% of the time, or as needed to support the business
