Columbia University in the City of New York: Columbia University Irving Medical Center: Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons: Physiology Location 02 Open Date Aug 31, 2024 Salary Range or Pay Grade $240,000-$240,000 Description The Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics at Columbia University seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. Applications from exceptional candidates will be considered in all areas of molecular, cellular, and systems physiology that determine how important physiological processes are regulated. The research areas will complement existing departmental strengths in cardiovascular biology, structural biology, metabolism, ion channel biophysics and physiology, mitochondrial biology, genomics and epigenomics are of particular interest. Approaches that capitalize on human genetics, stem cell biology, tissue engineering, computational methods, and diverse model systems are welcomed. Will be expected to develop an innovative, externally funded research program, as well as participate in graduate student teaching. A generous start-up package is provided. A joint appointment between the Department of Physiology & Cellular Biophysics and a clinical department (with limited clinical responsibilities) or other basic science departments, depending on research focus, is possible. The successful candidate will interact with existing programs at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in Precision Medicine and Structural Biology, and will have access to relevant Graduate Programs such as the Cardiovascular Training Program and the Endocrinology Training Program, both in the Department of Physiology & Cellular Biophysics plus other programs that will be relevant to the candidate's research focus and are run by Institutes or Departments at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
