Columbia University in the City of New York: Arts and Sciences Core - Academic: Department of Physics Location 01 Open Date Oct 11, 2024 Salary Range or Pay Grade $124,000-$130,000 Description The Columbia University Department of Physics seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in the area of experimental atomic, molecular, and optical physics. It is expected that the candidate will develop a vigorous independent research program, continuing the long Columbia record of forefront accomplishment in science. Applicants for this position must possess a doctoral degree in Physics or a related field and have demonstrated the ability to do pioneering experimental research as well as the promise of excellence in teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Qualifications Ph.D. All candidates must have a strong publication record and have demonstrated the potential to establish a vigorous individual research program and to teach effectively using modern tools of instruction. Candidates also must have the potential for future development as a scientist, scholar and teacher.
