We are looking for an eager and energetic CAD Technician that is passionate about the energy and sustainability industry. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor CAD users within Willdan groups.
  • Provide training on CAD software, standards, and best practices to enhance team efficiency.
  • Establish and enforce departmental CAD standards, including software, templates, file management, and drawing protocols.
  • Develop and maintain user guides for CAD systems and ensure consistent application across projects.
  • Oversee CAD system file management, configuration options, and software updates.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, and clients to define project requirements.
  • Assess and implement new CAD tools, techniques, or technologies to improve productivity and innovation.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., engineering, construction) to integrate CAD outputs into broader project workflows.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles, drafting standards, and design practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in an MEP engineering consultant firm is a plus.
  • Proficient in using Excel and Word software programs.
